Key features

Phases E, F and G of the urban realm project for the Bon Pastor neighbourhood, in Sant Andreu District of Barcelona, have been designed to manage surface water runoff at source through the naturalisation of the urban landscape and the integration of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). The project includes the following SuDS features: rain gardens, bioretention areas, permeable paving and structural soil tree pits. Moreover, informative boards were installed across the site in order to educate and engage citizens with sustainable surface water management.

This project shows how SuDS can manage surface water efficiently but contribute and also, improve the quality of the urban environment.
