Last 18th of November, Green Blue Management, and Sara Perales, participated in the debate GBCe: Nature-based Solutions: biodiversity and adaptation. The conference was part of the International exhibition of materials, techniques and construction solutions CONSTRUCTEC, at the IFEMA facilities in Madrid.
Amongst the addressed topics, the questions relating to the perception of seeing the biodiversity as a partner to improve the life conditions within the urban environment, and not as a problem, were analysed; the effort of the authorities and developers to apply Nature-based Solutions; and how the biodiversity can help us to tackle the climate and energetic crisis which we are involved.
The Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) are Nature-based Solutions that respond to all these questions: creating more pleasant places for people, favouring its application in public and private environments through different techniques, and fighting against the urban heat island effect within cities, promoting the creation of new green and multifunctional environments.
