Sustainable Drainage Systems manual for València is presented

On the 9th of June, Elisa Valía (Councilor for the Integral Water Cycle) and Sara Perales (CEO of Green Blue Management) presented the “Guía Básica para el diseño de Sistemas Urbanos de Drenaje Sostenible en la Ciudad de València” (Sustainable Drainage Systems manual for València). This publication was created in response to the city’s needs to have basic design criteria and clear guidelines to incorporate sustainable drainage solutions integrated into the urban environment.

As a main innovation, this publication proposes to adjust the design criteria according to the opportunities offered by the different types of urban landscape in the city. The guide recommends less ambitious criteria for the highly- dense urbanized areas, such as the historic city center, and more restrictive criteria for parks and gardens.

In addition to the press conference held at the Valencia City Council, the guide was presented in the RedSUDS 2021 Conference, being well-received by the professionals.
