The 39th IAHR World Congress was held in Granada, Spain, from June 19th to 24th.
The Congress is a biennial event celebrated for more than seventy-five years. It brings together worldwide leading experts to share recent advances and experiences, identify emerging technology trends, and address the world’s water environmental engineering challenges.
In this edition, the central theme of the Congress was “From Snow to Sea”, linking past with present and focusing attention on the importance of considering the integral water cycle to address present and future challenges.
As part of the special session “Green Infrastructure and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems”, Miguel Rico, specialist in sustainable drainage at GBM, gave a presentation entitled “Introducing SUDS guidelines at a local scale: three case studies in Spain”. During this, an introduction to the current situation of the SUDS in Spain and a presentation of three case studies of guides for the design of SUDS in different cities of Spain took place.
